They screen for, assess, identify, and treat hearing loss, auditory processing disorders, tinnitus, other auditory disorders, and balance issues in individuals of all ages. They also provide services to patients with cochlear or bone-conduction implants?such as candidacy assessments, post-implant follow-up and rehabilitation, and case management?while acting as a patient advocate (liaising with implant manufacturers, NIHB, and insurance companies), conducting research, teaching, and pursuing professional development.
